“I commend the entire team who worked on this disturbing case, particularly Det. Castellano, who showed professionalism, dedication, and patience throughout this lengthy investigation,” Aguiar said in a statement.
“While it’s currently believed no one from Hoboken was involved in this incident, the safety and well-being of all our residents, especially our children, remain the highest priority of the Hoboken Police Department. We will continue to do whatever it takes to bring those who attempt to harm any youth, to justice.”
The Hoboken Police Department’s Detective Bureau launched the investigation in August of 2024, after receiving a tip that child pornography was found on Wright’s computer.
The investigation, led by Det. Jesse Castellano, spanned more than a year and involved extensive cybercrime work, ultimately leading to the discovery of more than 3,800 items containing child pornography on Wright’s computer system.
Hoboken detectives worked in coordination with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit, the U.S. Marshal Service, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to identify Wright and track the individual to a new residence in Massachusetts.
On September 8th, Wright came to Hoboken Police Headquarters, where Wright was processed on a warrant, and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
The Hoboken PD thanked the HCPO SVU, the U.S. Marshals, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the Sommerville, Massachusetts Police Department for their assistance in the investigation and arrest.
