For West New York ballot, Rodriguez slate gets Column A, Roque team in Column E

New Beginnings West New York, the slate headed by Public Safety Commissioner Gabriel Rodriguez, received the optimal spot on the ballot for the May 14th municipal elections, with Mayor Felix Roque’s slate occupying the last column, after Thursday’s ballot drawing.

NBWNY, who have the backing of U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8), also includes Commissioners Cosmo Cirillo and Margarita Guzman.

Yoleisy Yanez and Victor Barrera round out the Column A team favored by the Hudson County Democratic Organization.

Meanwhile, the “Forward with Roque” alliance is the last group of candidates, Column E, to select from the 16-person ballot.

The mayor, seeking a third term, is running with Commissioner Susan Colacurcio, Board of Education Trustee Maite Fernandez, Richard Acosta and Ana Luna.

In between the only two complete brackets are Board of Education Trustee Ron Scheurle in Column B, the “Take Back Our Town” team of Anthony Valdes, Manual Andujar, Jr., Armando Galis-Menendez and Claudia Calderon pulled Column C and attorney Adil Ahmed will be in Column D.

While the election is non-partisan, Scheurle, running under the “Make Our Town Great Again banner, is the only Republican in the race.
