Around 6:45 p.m. on Monday evening, a 70-year-old man from Bergenfield was driving, with a 26-year-old male passenger, north on Bergenwood Avenue with the right of way, according to North Bergen spokeswoman Nicole Casal.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old Fairview man was driving east on 91st Street and went through a stop sign, striking the other vehicle, causing it to overturn, Casal said.

Surprisingly, those involved in the accident only suffered minor injuries and were treated at the Palisades Medical Center, she added.

The driver had initially, fled the scene but later showed up to North Bergen Police Headquarters to inform them of the accident. He’s being charged with fleeing the scene of an accident, Casal noted.

No further information is available at this time.

Footage of the aftermath of incident was first published on the HudPost Instagram page last night.
