“I’m on the way to Jersey City to empower our youth with the Mayor Fulop, Councilman Robinson and Teen Magazine….Pull up for a great conversation @TamikaMcReynol1,” the three time Grammy winner tweeted at 12:24 p.m. Eastern Time yesterday.

The tweet, which he reposted on Facebook and Instagram, came with a graphic promoting an event for Monday 12 noon at the football field at 1 Chapel Ave.

The event appeared to be in conjunction Mt. Olive Baptist Church, since Pastor John McReynolds and his wife Tamika were listed as hosts, along with Robinson and Health and Human Services Director Stacey Flanagan.

Once the city’s social media reposted the flyer this morning, the event received a chilly reception on Twitter and Instagram, with no reactions at all on Facebook.

“TI is a pile of garbage…hardly a role model for kids!! This is terrible,” Jim Vardakis commented on the Instagram post.

By Saturday evening, all of the social media posts from T.I. and the city had been deleted.

T.I. and his wife Tiny are currently under investigation by the LAPD following numerous allegations of sexual assault and abuse, as FOX LA reported.

While all the city’s social media posts remain active, a city spokesperson confirmed this afternoon that the event had been cancelled yesterday.

Although a reason was not provided, T.I. is currently promoting a performance at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas for this evening.
