According to the report filed by the Sacco team on April 11th, the incumbent ticket’s war chest has come almost exclusively from the North Bergen Democratic Committee: who made made a $100,000 contribution on February 8th and then a $150,000 donation on March 19th.

The campaign also reports an additional $890.64 coming from the political entity for research and polling.

Additionally, the five-person slate indicates they have spent over $220,000 on expenses, including well over $100,000 on marketing materials. Their closing balance, or cash on hand, is about $36,452, according to the report.

Meanwhile, Wainstein’s report shows that, similar to his 2015 campaign, he is self-funding his campaign, loaning himself approximately $173,108 and reporting just $1,700 in contributions.

His April 16th ELEC filing also points out that he has spent roughly $60,600 on mailers up to this point and has just under $36,312 cash on hand.

The North Bergen municipal elections are on May 14th and features a head-to-head contest pitting Sacco and the current board of commissioners against Wainstein’s “Our Town Our Time” ticket.
