Mussab Ali raised $18,668 and spent $55,551.41 in the fourth quarter of last year, with $169,172.62 cash on hand, his January 16th report filed with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (NJ ELEC) says.

Ali, a former board of education president, received a $5,200 donation from Azral Ashkraf, who lists his employer as PVT.com, with Patricia Chambers, who lists that she is retired, donating $3,000.
Otherwise, the Harvard Law School graduate did not receive any other donations above $1,000 between the period of October 1st and December 31st, the report shows.
On the expense side, Ali spent $13,162.56 on Washington, D.C-based 4431 Consulting, with Brooklyn’s MKM Strategies being paid $7,500 for fundraising consultant, the same amount for another fundraising consultant – San Francisco-based 11X Inc.
He is also spending $2,850 on rent, utilities, cable, and internet for his campaign office at 35 Journal Square, with $16,500.92 in outstanding loans he gave his campaign last year.
Among the declared candidates for the non-partisan November 4th, Jersey City mayoral contest, Ali has the fourth most cash on hand behind former Gov. Jim McGreevey, Ward E Councilman James Solomon, and Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea (D-2).
He remains well ahead of Council President Joyce Watterman in that category.
While McGreevey is yet to file his fourth quarter report for his council slate (they were due on Wednesday), his individual report shows he remains in the lead with $1,121,491.83 cash on hand.
