“BHS is back to normal operations. The shelter in place was initiated by an anonymous call to BPD of a bomb threat at BHS,” the Bayonne Board of Education tweeted at 11:12 a.m.

“While there was no credible threat, a thorough check was conducted. Suspected individual is in law enforcement custody. Thank you for your cooperation.”

The high school was in a shelter in place for a little over an hour out of an abundance of caution, though both the district and the local office of emergency management were quick to note that the threat did not appear credible.

Located at 669 Avenue A, where the board of education also meets, the high school had to evacuate in February due to the fire alarm going off.
