O’Brien, who is also an emergency room technician at the Bayonne Medical Center (where the press conference took place), briefly spoke about his background.

He also said he would focus on building and development, transportation, recreation and educational funding – which includes special needs programs – in the 31st district.

O’Brien later told Hudson County View why he decided to run in the crowded Assembly race.

During a question and answer session with the media, Alston denounced the Hudson County Democratic Organization, later stating that he and O’Brien would bring the District 31 Assembly seats back to the residents.

After also stating that “money doesn’t win elections in Bayonne and Jersey City anymore,” Alston took some parting shots at incumbents Charles Mainor and Jason O’Donnell, who have still not formally announced if they plan on seeking re-election or not.
