Bayonne police seeking public’s help to ID & locate person who shot man, 61, in the leg

The Bayonne Police Department is seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person who shot a 61-year-old man in the leg last night.

Yesterday at about 7:06 p.m., Bayonne police officers responded to the area of 21 Goldsborough Drive on a report of man being shot. Upon arrival, officers located the 61-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his leg, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

The victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for the non-life- threatening injury.

The incident remains an active investigation and anyone with any information is urged to contact the Bayonne Police Detective Bureau at 201-858-6925.
