“I am supporting the Together We Can Ticket of Maria Valado 7I, Dave ‘Doc’ Watson
8I, and Chris Munoz 9I, and I urge all residents to join me in voting for them,” Davis said in a joint statement.

“As mayor, I need a school board that is independent but also understands the need to partner with the city.”

Council President Sharon Nadrowski added that this trio has “no conflicts or personal agendas” and that they all care about the quality of public schools as parents.

“ … As an educator and a Councilman, I have witnessed firsthand the value of
the school board working with the City. The Together We Can Ticket understands the
value of teamwork and will continue to put our schools first,” added 1st Ward Councilman
Neil Carroll III.

Together We Can faces competition in the “Make Bayonne Great Again” slate, unofficially headed by Trustee Michael Alonso, and the “Responsibility, Integrity & Care” team, which has Trustee Denis Wilbeck Sr.’s son, Denis Wilbeck, Jr., running with former Trustee Charles Ryan – as well as first time candidate Andrew Kim.

The Bayonne BOE election is on November 3rd and will be contest primarily via vote-by-mail ballots.

  1. This comes as no surprise. Both Munoz and Valardo are as politicized as one can be. There are presently two other current board members who are also politicized. Doc Watson, other than having worked along side him for a number of years, I must admit that I do not know if he will become yet another political pawn. If one is supported by the mayor and his council how can you be “independent”?
This current board lacks intelligent and unbiased leadership who considers what is best for our community, the teachers and most of all our students. We are seriously lacking that kind of leadership.
Bring Back Charles Ryan. Tried and true and brings much to the table. Andy Kim and Denis Wilbeck’s son will bring a breath of fresh air along with their intelligence, independence and keen financial insight. Right now the board meeting room is filled toxic fumes. Vote wisely.
