“Bayonne Community – Please be aware that the fire alarm has been activated at Bayonne High School. Bayonne Fire and Police Departments are on scene and the building has been evacuated. @BayonneHigh,” the board of education tweeted minutes ago.

They did not give any indication of concern regarding any smoke or fire at the facility, which is located at 669 Avenue A.

A short time after their initial post on Twitter, the BOE indicated that the students and staff were cleared to return to the building.

“Bayonne High School has been cleared to return and all students and staff have safely resumed normal activities. Thank you for your cooperation.”
