Authorities are investigating the death of a man found unresponsive in his Union City apartment, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said.

“The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and Union City Police are investigating the death of a male who was found unresponsive in an apartment on Palisade Avenue and 21st Street in Union City. More info to follow,” the HCPO tweeted minutes ago.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez provided an update this afternoon.
This morning at approximately 6:15 a.m., members of the Union City Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive male in a first floor apartment of a residence on Palisade Avenue and 21st Street, Suarez said in a statement.
Upon their arrival, officers located an unresponsive 50-year-old man with another man performing CPR on him. The unresponsive man was officially pronounced dead at the scene at 6:27 a.m.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Union City Police Department are actively investigating this death, which is pending determination of cause and manner of death by the Regional Medical Examiner.
