Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old Jersey City teen on Myrtle Avenue.

“The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are responding to the fatal shooting of a man on Myrtle Avenue in Jersey City. More information to follow,” the HCPO tweeted.

This is the second fatal incident in Jersey City being investigated since Wednesday, when a 57-year-old man was found dead in an apartment on Van Nostrand Avenue.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez provided more information at 10:37 a.m.

Yesterday shortly after 8:20 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of 112 Myrtle Ave. on a report of shots fired. The responding officers found a victim outside that location with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso.

The injured teenager, later identified as Devin Bryant, 15, of Jersey City, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the Jersey City Medical Center and he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:10 p.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and mo arrests have been made at this time.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
