4 WNY BOE trustees sworn in, receive praise from Cirillo, Jimenez and Roque

The four West New York board of education trustees who were victorious in November’s election: Dennise Mejia, Adam Parkinson, Damarys Gonzalez and Steven Roda received praise from local officials, with Rodas also being re-appointed president of the board and Parkinson earning vice president honors.

Rodas maintained the top post on the board by a vote of 6-3 – with trustees Matthew Cheng, Joan Palermo and Dr. Christine Piscitelli voting no, while Parkinson earned VP honors by a 7-2 vote – with only Cheng and Palermo voting no.

Each of the four trustees who ran under the Children First ticket in November said a few words at the tail end of the meeting.

Cosmo Cirillo, a former WNY BOE president and the current Chief of Staff for Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32), Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez (D-32) and Mayor Felix Roque all issued proclamations and had kind words to say about the winning team.
