Also known as Vermella East at Hudson Pointe, this is the Russo Development’s third luxury apartment community in Kearny.
“There are truly generational dynamics surrounding the opening of Vermella East,” says Russo Property Management President Adam Pasternack.
“It is our second property located along this vibrant mixed-use corridor, it is the property that establishes the Hudson Pointe residential district, and it answers the current demand for an urban atmosphere within a sprawling outdoor envelope.”
The one and two-bedroom studios feature gourmet kitchens with custom cabinets, quartz countertops and ceramic tile backsplashes.
Additionally, Vermella’s robust amenity package includes a resort-style pool, a gym featuring Fitness on Demand and a yoga studio, a game room with billiards and TVs, a clubhouse with a We-work-style space.
There are also outdoor amenities such as a dog run and access to the increasingly popular Riverwalk promenade that extends to Newark and Harrison.
The Hudson Pointe neighborhood’s iconic feature is the seven-mile scenic Passaic River Walkway for bikers, walkers and runners looking for exercise or relaxation.
Passaic Avenue also features Kearny Commons, a retail corridor that features stores such as BJ’s, Marshalls, LA Fitness, Starbucks and Chipotle, and a new urgent care center – among other things.
Residents are nearby to both Hudson and Essex County as well as the emerging entertainment and revitalized business districts in Newark.
Russo Development has been a partner in Kearny’s renaissance into an urban transit community since 2013 with the opening of Russo Development’s Vermella Crossing, a 150-unit community with a CVS and Investor’s Bank at Schuyler and Bergen Avenues.
Russo opened Vermella Crossing’s second phase across the street in 2018 with 80 additional apartment homes and Vermella West on Passaic Avenue, later that year building 280 more homes.
“Russo Development has helped us achieve our goal of redeveloping some of our oldest industrial sites and answer the market need for more housing options,” added Mayor Al Santos.
“Hudson Pointe is the perfect name for a vibrant new area that continues to welcome new residents and businesses in a thriving community.”
Commutes from Vermella East are especially convenient by road, via major highways including Route 280 and PATH service to New York and other hubs from the nearby Harrison Station, connected to the community by their two private shuttles that run morning and evening.
Travelers will also enjoy the convenience of being near Newark Liberty International Airport.
