Hudson County Young Republicans Chairman Joshua Sotomayor-Einstein said in a statement they are “thrilled to engage our Democrat brothers in a dialogue about where our nation and state is going” adding that “it will be an epic battle of ideas that will benefit the community.”

In a similar vein, Hudson County Young Democrats President Brian Platt stated “well-informed voters are crucial to an effective democracy,” going on to say “we are hoping that this event will inspire meaningful discussions around some of our most pressing issues.”

The October 17 event, moderated by Newark Inc.’s Mark Bonamo, will be broken up into three segments: a happy hour meet and greet, a debate of pre-selected issues, followed by a question and answer session with the audience.

The happy hour is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and the debate is set to commence at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door or online on the Hudson County Young Democrats website.

Proceeds from the event will go to local Hoboken non-profit True Mentors.
