The Union City Police Department bid farewell to fallen Sgt. Mark Zeitounian this morning after he was killed in a car accident last week.
Zeitounian, 44, was a hired by the department in 1999 and spent his whole career in the patrol division.
Today, hundreds of fellow officers from New Jersey paid their respects at his funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Church in Lyndhurst, the township where Zeitounian lived.
The many police departments in attendance included Fort Lee, Madison, Ridgefield, North Bergen, Weehawken, Little Ferry, NJ Transit, Port Authority and Belleville.
Zeitounian is survived by his wife, Debra, and his son, Jason.
