This year’s event saw record participation, with 119 registered runners and walkers, and an even larger crowd of supporters joining in solidarity, cheering on participants along the scenic Hudson River, specifically J. Owen Grundy Park.
The waterfront was awash in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag, as families, athletes and community members came together to demonstrate unwavering support for Ukraine during this time of great need.
The event began with a moment of silence, honoring the fallen in Ukraine, followed by the singing of the Ukrainian anthem. Before the race kicked off, participants joined in a lively group warm-up that set an energetic and positive tone.
Community members also set up a stand, offering coffee and homemade snacks, creating a welcoming atmosphere for runners and supporters alike.
After crossing the finish line, participants lingered to connect, share stories and celebrate together — filling the waterfront with warmth, chatter and solidarity.
The sponsors that contributed to a successful event were Self Reliance Federal Credit Union, Costco, Wonder Bagels, Helen’s Pizza, Veselka, Shake Shack, True Dental, Barbara and Harold Gottesman Family Foundation, Solo Coffee, Glulicious Bakery, Howard Hanna Rand Realty, Imperial Alterations, Hamilton Park Group, and SpeedPro Printing — whose contributions directly transformed community spirit into lifesaving impact.
Ukrainian Jersey City also extended their gratitude to Jersey City City Hall “for their continued support, which made it possible to host this event in the heart of our community.”

Inspiring news after last night’s barbaric attack on Ukraine’s capital with Putin’s war crimes using missiles to target civilians in their beds. 14 dead and several children murdered by Putin. President Trump can’t be happy with the arrogance of the KGB thug dictator’s slap to his face.
