U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8) speaks at Pre-K grand opening in Newark

U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8), whose district includes West New York, Union City, North Bergen, Jersey City and Bayonne, was a keynote speaker at the Ironbound Early Learning Center in Newark on Monday. The center is a combination early learning center/pre-school for children ages zero through five. 

“The structure we give these kids today is going to stay with them the rest of their lives,” Sires said in front of the podium.

Hudson County View spoke with philanthropist Brian Maher, who donated a whopping $5 million to the cause, and hopes this starts an ongoing trend of similar learning centers in New Jersey.
