Tax abatement for low-income housing will bring $200k to North Bergen

0

The North Bergen Board of Commissioners unanimously approved an ordinance allowing a tax abatement for the Floral Gardens low-income housing units that is expected to add $200,000 back to the township budget.

Vocal Mayor Nick Sacco critic Herb Shaw questioned the validity of the agreement with the Floral Gardens housing buildings, but township administrator Chris Pianese and Sacco argued that, realistically, everyone wins in this situation.
