Ryan Strother, Jr., 18, of Jersey City, was arrested at his Clerk Street home this morning at an undisclosed time, according to Hudson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Michael Makarski.

“Our detectives were out serving warrants this morning. They went to that address [the Strother’s residence] with a warrant for someone else. Mr. Ryan Strother was there and was arrested on an incident unrelated to the warrant. The matter is still under investigation at this time,” Makarski said in an email.

Sources, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said Strother is the son of Ryan Strother, Sr., the Jersey City recreation director. According to public records, Strother, Sr. lives at the Clerk Street address where Ryan Strother, Jr. was arrested.

No further details on the arrest are currently available and calls and emails to Jersey City City Hall were not immediately returned.
