According to Schillari a 30-year-old pregnant woman from Guttenberg was crossing the street at the intersection of 56th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday evening.

The woman, who had the walk signal and was crossing in the crosswalk, was hit by a 2003 Ford van driven by a 68-year-old man from North Bergen, officials said.

The driver stopped and remained at scene before the woman was transported to the Hoboken University Medical Center for minor injuries, police said.

The 68-year-old driver was issued with summonses for careless driving and failure to yield to a pedestrian, authorities said.

An update on the condition of the pregnant woman was not immediately available.

After Hudson County View released cursory information from the incident this afternoon, the West New York Police Department again referred us to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.

A spokesman for the sheriff’s office initially stated that they were not a part of the investigation, but later clarified that since it was a minor accident, it did not immediately register with the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office’s Crash Investigation Unit.
