Sources: OFAC visited WNY BOE office on Tuesday

1

The state Office of Fiscal Accountability and Compliance (OFAC) paid a visit to the West New York Board of Education office, located at 6028 Broadway, yesterday to gather more data about their ongoing investigation into whether or not the board properly approved insurance contracts this summer, sources exclusively told Hudson County View.

Sources revealed few details, other than OFAC stopped by the WNY BOE headquarters yesterday and did not question any members of the board this time around.

At the WNY BOE meeting one week ago, the board terminated Alamo Insurance’s contract – a move firm founder and President Luis Alamo called defamatory and political.

The FBI is investigating the same matter, having previously spoken with then-BOE president Vilma Reyes and trustee Angela Duval back in August.

OFAC did not immediately return calls seeking comment from Hudson County View.
