The FBI questioned West New York Board of Education Trustees Angela Duval and Vilma Reyes – the latter of which serves as the BOE president – according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.

Angela Duval, a trustee for the West New York Board of Education, was interviewed by the FBI while on the clock for her Housing Authority job, multiple sources confirmed with Hudson County View on Tuesday.

Duval declined to comment over the phone, while West New York Housing Authority Executive Director Robert DiVincent confirmed the FBI did visit the housing authority building at 6100 Adams Street at about 3:30 p.m.

However, he stressed that he did not know what the visit was about. Furthermore, multiple sources at the West New York town hall confirmed that the FBI also stopped by 428 60th Street.

They allegedly spoke with Vilma Reyes, the board of education president, while she was working at her job in the building department. Reyes also declined to comment when reached by Hudson County View.

Town spokesman Pablo Fonseca said he “had no knowledge” of the FBI visiting the town hall on Tuesday.

Nevertheless, various town sources reiterated that Duvall and Reyes were questioned about a board of education matter, though no one would reveal what the matter in question is.

A phone call and an e-mail to the FBI press office was not returned on Tuesday.

  1. Once again, John Heinis, you havebeen the first to report a major news story affecting the WNY Board of Education. I greatly suspect this story involves more than The WNY Board of Education.
