After Roque received a hearty congratulations from childhood friend Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32), North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco joked about his history in West New York.

When addressing his supporters, Roque was complementary of Commissioners Sue Colacurcio, Cosmo Cirillo, Gabriel Rodriguez and Margarita Guzman, also giving shout outs to town attorney Donald Scarinci and Sacco.

After the Las Palmas staff brought out two cakes, District 7 Freeholder Caridad Rodriguez and U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8) gave some brief remarks before the DJ played Happy Birthday.

Roque, Colacurcio and Angela Cirillo, Cosmo’s sister, are all celebrating birthdays this month.

Others in attendance included Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner, Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez (D-32), former West New York Mayor Sal Vega, West New York Board of Education President Steven Rodas, WNY BOE Trustee Adam Parkinson and WNY Housing Authority Executive Director Bob DiVincent.

The Hudson County Democratic Organization’s Joey Muniz served as the master of ceremonies.

  1. What a collection of thieves. 100 people only. I bet more than half were given free tickets just so the place wouldn’t be empty. Albio and Sal had over 1000 at theit events.
