Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari has confirmed there’s an active investigation into a dead body found hanging in James J. Braddock Park in North Bergen on Saturday.

“At approximately 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, [Hudson County] Sheriff’s Officers responded to a call regarding a male hanging from a tree in the North Hudson Park,” Schillari said in a statement.
“Units located the party and confirmed that a middle-aged male was hanging in the wooded area by the northwest end of the lake. The victim remains unidentified and the case remains under investigation by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.”
Yesterday, Hudson County View was the first media outlet to report that authorities were investigating a potential suicide at the county park.
No further information on the incident was immediately available.
