Prosecutor’s office identifies 18-year-old killed in Hoboken shooting

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the 18-year-old killed in a Hoboken shooting yesterday as Adrian Rivera.

Yesterday at approximately 3:15 p.m., Hoboken police were dispatched to 300 Marshall Dr. in Hoboken on a 911 call of possible gun shots in the area, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.

Upon arrival, officers found a victim in an apartment with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso. The victim, Adrian Rivera, 18, who lived in the apartment, was immediately transported to the Jersey City Medical Center by ambulance, authorities said.

Rivera was then pronounced dead at at approximately 3:50 p.m., officials said.

According to a source, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, Rivera was a drop out at Hoboken High School.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, so The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Hoboken Police Department.
