Fulop announced that Prinz-Arey would be joining his slate in a Facebook post yesterday, commending her long record of community involvement, including endeavors such as co-founding the West Side farmers market and West Side Arts & Music in Lincoln Park.

She also serves on the Jersey City Parks Coalition, West Side Community Alliance and the Liberty Humane Society board.

“Even if you don’t know her yet there is no way you haven’t been impacted by her work. Just imagine what she can do with more resources,” Fulop wrote.

“I think Mira embodies a track record of what anyone would want in an elected official and I’m looking forward to working on her behalf.”

Gadsden, who is running on mayoral challenger Bill Matsikoudis’ ticket, won a special election to the council last November and, as a result, must defend his seat this fall.

Additionally, a Jessica Hellinger a mortgage field professional and mother of four, announced she would be seeking the Ward B council race as an independent on Thursday.

The Jersey City municipal elections are on November 7th.
