Poll: Should more Hudson County mayors regularly host community meetings?

1

With Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop now hosting a series of community meetings, which saw residents focus on public safety at the first forum this past week, should more Hudson County mayors follow suit?

Steven Fulop

Fulop, for the most part, was well-received by residents who attended the forum at Hank Gallo Center in Lincoln Park on Monday.

Topics discussed included violent crime, the courts, policing and recreation programs meant for kids to socialize and make friends.

The next Jersey City community meeting will be held at the Grace Church Van Vorst on 39 Eerie St. on Tuesday, January 26 at 7p.m.

Additionally, Union City Mayor/state Senator (D-33) Brian Stack has hosted public safety meetings for years, holding forums in specific neighborhoods with the police chief and city commissioners taking questions as well.

Should these types of meetings become the norm throughout the county?

  1. Depends, Fulop can’t seem to get enough of himself. Meanwhile the admin duties background checks, purchase orders go unchecked and people get thrown under the bus for his responsibilities.
