Luz Waldsterin, 38, of Saddle Brook, was charged with theft of service and bail jumping yesterday, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

Port Authority police saw a yellow GMC box truck pass through the Holland Tunnel toll plaza in Jersey City and the driver did not pay the required toll and the truck did not display an EZ pass, officials said.

As a result, the driver was summonsed for the offense and her vehicle was impounded. When Waldsterin tried to retrieve the truck,  a records check showed the vehicle’s registration had been suspended, authorities said.

Waldsterin had multiple EZ Pass accounts, including one with 89 separate violations. In total, she owed $7,900.00 in tolls and fees, as well as an outstanding warrant out of Carlstadt. She was then arrested and processed, police said.
