Julian Villafane, 22, of Jersey City, was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, according to Det. Lt. Edgardo Cruz.

Around 9:38 p.m. on Saturday, police were dispatched to the area of Auggie’s liquor store, located at 419 Adams St., on a call of someone making threats, authorities said.

After investigating, police determined that Villafane had entered the store in the past and shoplifted. As a result, he was told he was not welcome and asked to leave, officials said.

Prior to leaving, he punched a store employee in the face and threatened to “shoot the place” before arrested and transported to headquarters and processed, police said.
