Brian Russell, 34, of Jersey City, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and aggravated assault on Wednesday, according to Police Capt. Janine Foy.

On Wednesday, August 24, around 3:35 p.m., Russell was seen striking a man waiting at a bus stop near 3rd Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, then later bothering two females waiting at the same stop, officials said.

When police tried to apprehend Russell, he refused to be handcuffed, forcing authorities to subdue him with pepper spray, police said.

One officer was injured during the altercation and both he and Russell were treated at the Bayonne Medical Center, authorities said.
