Thomas Arnold, 57, of Toccoa, Georgia, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

At about 6 p.m. yesterday, Port Authority police on duty at the Hoboken PATH Station saw the suspect carrying a defibrillator out of the station without permission or authority to do so, officials said.

The officers stopped the suspect and determined the life saving device had been taken from the Lackawanna side of the station platform, authorities said.

The device was returned by Port Authority police and Arnold was placed under arrest.

  1. Who remembers that song ” How to Save a Life”? When I was back in my Starbucks Days — dating a coffee girl, don’t mention it, “dark days, dark days” (hah!) — it would play night and day. Sounds like Thomas Arnold heard it a bit too much, too, and wanted to zap the life back into a special someone. Hey, I know the feeling! I MISS YOU, GABBY!
