Police: Jersey City woman hits acquaintance with car after argument in Bayonne

A Jersey City woman hit a male acquaintance with her car on Sunday after getting into a verbal dispute with him in Bayonne, police said.

Patricia Padillo, 38, of Jersey City, was charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident after she hit an acquaintance with her car near the intersection of 39th Street and Broadway in Bayonne on Sunday, Police Lt. Janine Foy said.

Padillo was driving away in a four-door red 2014 Hyundai on Sunday at 8:10 p,m. when she struck a 43-year-old acquaintance, from Bayonne – whom she had just had an argument with – with her car, police said.

Officials could not immediately clarify what the argument was about or if Padillo intentionally struck the man with her car, nor about how fast the car was traveling.

The victim was treated at the Bayonne Medical Center – CarePoint Health for non-lifethreatening injuries.
