A Jersey City man was caught with heroin when he was arrested for nine burglaries that occurred in Bayonne between October and December last year, police said.

Richard Vargas, 44, of Jersey City, was charged with nine counts of burglary and theft, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin) and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, according to Police Capt. Janine Foy.
Vargas was taken into custody from 469 Pavonia Ave in Jersey City yesterday at 12:30 p.m. for nine burglaries that took place between October and December 2015, where authorities found him to be in possession of heroin, officials said.
He was given a $100,000 bail with a 10 percent option, authorities said.
