Christopher Moccia, 36, of South Orange, was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving at 12:30 a.m. this morning, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

A Port Authority police officer was on foot patrol near the Holland Tunnel when he saw a 2014 black Jeep sideswipe a 2008 BMW as they were entering the tunnel’s south tube, officials said.

Moccia had bloodshot eyes, staggered when he exited his Jeep and lost his balance while walking, authorities said.

When administered a breathalyzer test, Moccia blew a 0.16, twice the legal limit, Pentangelo stated.
