Police: Hoboken man arrested for the 2nd time in a week for fighting

A Hoboken man was arrested for the second time in a week for fighting, this time getting into a one-on-one brawl on the third floor of a housing authority building, police said. Hoboken police

Hakeem High, 25, of Hoboken, was charged with aggravated assault, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), possession of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of school property, possession of a controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of public housing and trespassing, according to Police Det. Sgt. Edgardo Cruz.

Around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, police responded to a call of a fight at 560 Marshall Dr., to see High beating up a man on the third floor, officials said.

The altercation was separated by authorities and High was found to be in possession of 16 small Ziploc bags of suspected marijuana, police said.

Meanwhile, the victim was treated at the Hoboken University Medical Center for an injury to his eye, police said.

High was one of five people arrested for a “chaotic” Hoboken street fight last Saturday, August, 20 where he allegedly shoved a police officer into a parked car, knocking him the ground.

  1. It’s always the same bars with the fight calls. 1 Republik, Green rock or Tally Ho. And the ABC board just lets these guys slide with a slap on the wrist but I get one tavern sheet and they want to close me down a month?
