Thomas Bates, 28, of Hoboken, and Ryan Harris, 28, of Jersey City, were both charged with attempting to elude police and obstructing the administration of law and motor vehicle summonses, according to Police Det. Sgt. Edgardo Cruz.

At around 2:23 a.m. this morning, Hoboken police officers attempted to pull over a 2002 black Pontiac, driven by Bates, since he was an unlicensed driver and his vehicle registration was also expired, officials said.

However, Bates did not pull over and was able to briefly elude police. Then, Bates and his passenger, Harris, were later found parked near a Hoboken Housing Authority building where the duo was placed under arrest, authorities said.
