Police: Fist fight at Journal Square fountain ends when man uses stun gun

A fist fight at the Journal Square fountain in Jersey City came to an abrupt end when one man used a stun gun on his opponent, police said.

Honor Ortega, 49, of Jersey City, was charged with possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct, while Howard Parker, 53, of Manhattan, NY, was charged with disorderly conduct and seven outstanding warrants, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

At about 3:30 pm yesterday, Port Authority police at the at the Journal Square fountain in Jersey City saw two men engaged in a physical altercation, authorities said.

Parker pushed Ortega, prompting him to pull out and activate a stun gun. Ortega used the weapon on Parker before Port Authority police disarmed him and separated the two men, officials said.

Neither individual sustained serious injuries and both men were placed under arrest, police said.
