Romani Bouchra, 19, of Bayonne, with underage driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated within 1,000 feet of a school, bodily injury via assault by auto and serious bodily injury via assault by auto, according to Police Lt. Janine Foy.

At about 9:54 p.m. Sunday night, Bouchra was driving a Toyota Camry, traveling south on Broadway, when he collided with a Honda Odyssey that was stopped at the red light, authorities said.

This caused the Odyssey to spin around 180 degrees, coming to a rest in the crosswalk of West 27th Street, officials said.

The Camry then veered left into the northbound lane of traffic and crashed into a parked Honda Pilot head on, which was on the east side of Broadway, police said.

The collision then forced the Pilot into a parked Honda Civic, with his 18-year-old passenger seriously injured as a result of the incident, and he was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center, authorities said.

The 61-year-old driver of the Honda Odyssey, as well as her 17-year-old male passenger, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated at the Bayonne University Medical Center, officials said.

Bouchra, who was held on $50,000 bail with a 10 percent option, was also transported to the BUMC for minor injuries, police said.
