Port Authority police responded to the incident initially, which also sent a 58-year-old man to the Jersey City Medical Center, before the Office of the New Jersey Medical Examiner arrived at 12:56 p.m., according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.
Pentangelo noted that the second man sustained a pelvic injury and a rib injury.
A photo of the incident, posted above, shows two men on the ground as eight men are standing outside their trucks awaiting help. Out of respect for the families, Hudson County View has partially censored the photo.
As a result of the fatal accident, incoming traffic to the Global Container Terminal has been suspended for the day, officials said.
No further details were immediately available.
rest in peace, trucking is tough work
smh an other day in Obamamerica… what will it take for people to wake UP? Trump would not let this happen.
what the hell does Obama or Trump have to do with this? This is poor pier management.
This is because the I.L.A leaving everyone everyday waiting for a whole day to get one container and everyone loses focus on safety because of all the frustration of trying to make a living when they hold you back so they can make work(overtime)
This BS needs to stop already
Closed for the day? Alot of pissed off truck drivers for sure.
