Prieto packed out the banquet hall with a laundry list of elected officials (and probably around 200 people overall), including his local Democratic party chairmen: LeRoy Jones, of Essex, Lou Stellato, of Bergen and John Currie, of Passaic – who is also the New Jersey State Democratic Committee Chairman.

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop kept it short and sweet when summarizing Prieto’s effectiveness in the state Assembly.

Additionally, U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8) drew the parallels he saw between himself and Prieto.

North Bergen Mayor/state Senator (D-32) Nick Sacco also took the podium to praise Prieto as a natural born leader before the Hudson County Democratic Organization chair addressed his room full of guests.

Joey Muniz served as the master of ceremonies.

Others in attendance included West New York Mayor Felix Roque and his entire board of commissioners, North Bergen Freeholder Anthony Vainieri (D-8), Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D-37), Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter (D-35), Hoboken Freeholder Anthony Romano (D-5), Guttenberg Mayor Gerald Drasheff, Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez (D-32), Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro (D-33), Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner, Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis, Harrison Mayor James Fife, East Newark Mayor Joe Smith, Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz, Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes and various union leaders and lobbyists – just to name a few.
