Firefighters from North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue responded to a two-alarm fire at an apartment building in Union City that broke out late this afternoon.

Firefighters responded to 1415 Palisade Ave. in Union City at approximately 3:52 p.m. this afternoon, prompting the apartment building to promptly be evacuated, authorities said.
When Hudson County View arrived on the scene at about 5:15 p.m., Union City police, NHRF&R, American Red Cross and Union City EMS were still at the scene.
No injuries were reported at this time and displaced residents were offered a temporary place to stay at the Colin Powell Elementary School, located right down the street at 1500 New York Ave.
