“We are closely monitoring the weather forecast for this weekend,” Mayor Nick Sacco said in a statement. “If the predictions hold and our area gets hit by the storm, our Department of Public Works will be ready to clear the roads and make them safe for our residents.”

The Township currently has 15 plows and 4,000 tons of salt ready to use for this weekend. If weather forecasts hold accurate and the storm hits as hard as predicted, the entire DPW will be working through the storm, with a total 35 employees divided into two shifts per day.

Additionally, the township will pre-treat roads 12 hours prior to the storm with liquid brine.

If residents wish to contact the DPW for snow clearing issues, they may do so at any time during the storm by calling 201-392-2128.

North Bergen would like to remind residents to be cautious and to call 911 in case of emergency.
