Menendez: The Latino population could decide the next U.S. President

1

Following the 5th annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at Union City High School on Sunday, U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) briefly took questions from the media inside the school library. When a reporter asked what impact the hispanic community is having in local, state and national elections, Menendez gave an insightful answer.

“If you look at the states that are necessary to win to be the next President of the United States, and you see the states that are not clearly a Democrat or a Republican, those battleground states overwhelmingly have large, Latino populations with registered voters,” Menendez told the media.

“If the community decides to exert its power that it has in its hands, then it can be decisive as to who the next president is.”
