LETTER: Bayonne resident asks why council, BOE meetings are held simultaneously

1

In a letter to the editor, outspoken Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis critic Peter Franco questions why the city has made it a habit to hold their council and board of education meetings simultaneously.

Peter Franco

Last month, both the Bayonne Board of Education and City Council held meetings at the same time on the same day.

This Wednesday, both the Bayonne School Board and City Council meetings will be held once again at the same time, on the same day.

This has occurred at least two times prior to last month’s council and board meetings and it has unfairly left residents having to choose one or the other.

Obviously, a conflict such as this one is not in the best interest of our community. Both meetings are equally important to the Bayonne residents.

Rather than assign blame to either party, I hope to make both the School Board President, William Lawson and the Council President, Sharon Nadrowski, aware of the continued conflict.

I am hopeful our representatives will work together to resolve this matter and I hope that other council members and school board trustees will help expedite a resolution that will ensure such a conflict won’t occur in the future.

Respectfully

Peter Franco
