LETTER: 23 cent gas tax hike will hurt poor and working class families

In a letter to the editor, a Jersey City resident says that the proposed 23 cent gas tax hike will be harmful to poor and working class families throughout the state. NJ traffic

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter strongly opposed to the proposed 23 cents gas tax. This gas would have a negative impact on poor and working class families in the State of New Jersey.
In addition, this gas tax will hurt the pockets of thousands of college students who commute to class everyday.
Once again, the wealthiest residents in our state are protected while the 99% gets crushed by higher taxes.
While I do believe we need to fund the Transportation Trust fund, we can not expect the 99% to pay for all of it.
