“As the most senior Latino member of Congress representing New Jersey, Congressman Menendez is a standout leader delivering for working families,” Latino Victory Fund President & CEO Katharine Pichardo said in a statement.

“Congressman Menendez is a relentless champion of his heavily-Latino district, fighting for lower prices, health care access and supporting worker’s rights. He’s an unapologetic defender of the Latino and immigrant communities in the face of Trump’s brutal extremist policies, and we need his voice in Congress now more than ever.”

Menendez previously secured union support from the likes of 32BJ SEIU, the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council, and the New Jersey Education Association for his June 2nd primary showdown against former Jersey City Board of Education President Mussab Ali.

“In this moment, we must build a broad coalition to defend our community from the Trump Administration,” the congressman said.

“I am proud to have the Latino Victory Fund as a partner in this fight. Together, we will continue to fight for our communities from Delaney Hall to the halls of Congress. I am thankful for the Latino Victory Fund’s support and know it will be invaluable to the success of our re-election efforts.”

As for the carpenters, the council is made up of 25 Local unions across their territory, operate 17 state-of-the-art training facilities including three in the State of New Jersey, and are part of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.

“Congressman Rob Menendez has proven that he stands with working people across New Jersey,” noted EAS Carpenters Executive Secretary-Treasurer William C. Sproule.

“He understands that strong unions mean strong communities, and he has stood with us in the fight for fair wages, safe job sites, and policies that protect working families. The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters is proud to endorse Congressman Rob Menendez for re-election.”

The incumbent was expectedly enthusiastic to accept their support.

“Earning the support of the members of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters is an honor and a reflection of my commitment to organized labor,” Menendez expressed.

“Carpenters are in all of our communities, powering some of our most critical national infrastructure projects including Gateway, and I am proud to stand with them every single day. Together, we will always fight for our working families and all of our communities.”

  1. So unions support Menendez, so he can support illegal aliens displacing the very unions guys. Makes sense.

John, have you had a chance to see how much illegal aliens in HC get paid? Let me guess: they don’t exist.
