Jersey City Pride enters a new era as they officially become a 501c3 nonprofit

Jersey City Pride, Hudson County’s leading LGBTQ+ festival, is entering a new era, officially announcing that the organization has become a 501c3 nonprofit.

According to Jersey City Pride Chair and CEO Eduardo Baez, who is also the producer of the Jersey City Pride Festival, the move aims to strengthens their mission, expand their impact, and ensures long-term sustainability for LGBTQ+ visibility and programming.

“As we move forward as an independent nonprofit, our commitment remains clear: to produce not only a powerful annual festival, but year-round programs that uplift, support, and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community,” Baez said in a public statement.

The board of trustees includes Baez, Angela Giampolo, Joseph Cameron, as well as Robert Flower as treasurer, and Erik Smith as secretary.

“In today’s climate, visibility matters more than ever,” Baez added, continuing that this year’s theme for Pride will be “Show Your True Colors: Now More Than Ever.” He said it reminds the community that Pride is not just a celebration, but a statement.

“Together, we show up, stand proud, and demonstrate that inclusion and equality remain non-negotiable.”

Simultaneously, he announced that registrations for the 26th Annual Jersey City Pride Festival are now open with more information at jerseycitypride.com.

The festival, set for Saturday, August 22nd, is currently looking for vendors, community organizations, corporate sponsors, and small business partners.

“Whether you are looking to showcase your products, promote your organization, or align your brand with one of the region’s most dynamic Pride celebrations— we invite you to join us,” Baez concluded.

According to the nonprofit, Pride has been a powerful and visible force in Jersey City dating back to 2001.

The festival has grown from a grassroots celebration into one of the state’s longest-running and most recognized LGBTQ+ Pride initiatives, drawing tens of thousands of attendees consisting of artists, community partners, and allies that grows in number each year.
