Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer names Tom Molta new OEM coordinator

Thomas Molta, the president and 34-year veteran of the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps., has been named the new Office of Emergency Management coordinator for the Mile Square City, Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced yesterday.

Molta is a former Hoboken Fire Captain who retired in 2010 after 25 years of service.

During his time as a first responder, Molta dealt with a number of major crises including various apartment building fires in the 1980’s, the Henkel Chemical Plant incident in 2002, PATH train crashes, the World Trade Center attacks, Hurricane Irene and most recently, Hurricane Sandy.
